Cluster Initiatives

The CCB leads one of Latin America's most important Cluster Initiatives agenda under which businessmen, universities, the government and other institutions converge to develop projects and actions that will improve business productivity, as well as the environment for some priority sectors.

Businessmen in these Clusters have access to specialized programs designed to their specific needs. These programs aim to improve their processes, increase their sales, incorporate new technologies and break them into foreign markets, among other services, to be more competitive.

Under these Cluster Initiatives, companies also work together with other actors to:

  • Align the educational offer and investigation with their needs.
  • Launch collaborative logistics models to help reduce costs.
  • Suggest regulatory adjustments to improve competitiveness.
  • Attract foreign investment.
  • Showcase these Clusters’ value proposition through commercial platforms that position the city as an international reference.

The CCB leads the Apparel Cluster in Greater Bogotá which endeavors to be recognized for its competitiveness, high productivity levels, design and innovation.

This Cluster is comprised of around 26 thousand companies with related activities such as: spinning, weaving, manufacture and sale of apparel and related services, which generate over 200,000 jobs.

The Cluster Initiative is the natural setting to develop related projects:

The CCB leads the Leather, Footwear and Fine Leather Goods Cluster in Greater Bogotá, which works to consolidate Bogotá's leather, footwear and fine leather offer with added value, not only in the local market, but in other countries in the Americas.

This Cluster is comprised by around 7 thousand companies with related activities such as: tannery and manufacturing and selling shoes and fine leather goods, which generate over 90 thousand jobs.

The CCB leads the Jewelry and Custom Jewelry Cluster, which works to position its companies’ design in the Colombian market, as well as in Latin America. This cluster is distinctive because of the diversity and personality of its brands, offering quality products that are sustainable and stand out due to their creativity and innovation.

This Cluster is comprised by over 1500 companies that make jewelry and custom jewelry and generate nearly 5 thousand jobs.

The Cluster is comprised by over 8 thousand companies dedicated to producing and locally developing medications, pharmaceutical businesses engaged in innovation and research, services specializing in tests and quality control, and pharmaceutical agents and logistics platforms, which generate over 30 thousand jobs in the region.

The Cluster Initiative is the natural setting to develop related projects:

The CCB leads the Health Cluster Initiative, which seeks to position the city as a global leader in health, outstanding for its high levels of quality and safety in service delivery; developing efficient, holistic, user-centered care models; and developing new business models based on research, development and innovation.

The Cluster, which has the largest number of high-complexity health-care providers (IPS, for the Spanish original), is comprised by IPS and related entities in the health supply and assurance chain.
