At age 85, the renowned German designer Karl Lagerfeld has died this Tuesday, February 19. Modist Chanel and Fendi, has died at the American Hospital in Paris, after being admitted on an urgent basis on Monday night, according to the French magazine Paris Match . Karl Lagerfeld, one of the most renowned dressmakers of modern times, has worked until his last breath to support the most famous French firm in history.

The talented designer will be remembered as one of the most innovative, iconic designers and, among others, of relaunching the Chanel house after signing as his designer more than three decades ago (36 years).

Kaiser fashion nickname:

The German designer has always been surrounded by controversy. His critical statements about overweight people and French politics earned him the nickname 'the fashion Kaiser' in the industry.
